Coordinator Corner
STILL BEING UPDATED

IRS Required Site Coord. Training-TY2021

If you are a Site Coordinator or Assistant Site Coordinator, the IRS requires you to review these 2 videos below.

*My VITA Team members (Lee, Hendry, Glades, Charlotte county) a lot of the things mentioned in the webinar and publications get done by myself and Patrice. So don't feel overwhelmed by everything here, we will have our own coordinator training in January. But, still review these webinars and publications as required.

Each Alert highlights issues to watch for when preparing tax returns during the filing season at volunteer tax assistance sites. Alerts will be posted as they become available. **Make sure to share alerts with all your volunteers**

Excel Spreadsheet Tax Returns-
For Returns from 1996-2020  **use at your own risk!

I find this resource very helpful as I have many clients who need older returns done. While Taxslayer now goes back quite a few years, I have had clients needing 2010-2015 done recently.  This site has spreadsheets that go all the way back to 1996!!!  Just read his disclaimer & double check everything!

Please note: Form 8812 Additional Child Tax Credit is not part of the spreadsheet so you have to calculate it yourself and enter on the return. I just pulled the PDF from IRS.Gov and completed it myself.

Please note: I, Mary Meador, AM NOT a certified accountant or tax law expert. I volunteer with VITA providing free tax preparation for individuals and families whose income is less than $66,000 a year. We deal with simple returns at our sites.  I cannot guarantee the accuracy of all the information on this site as tax laws change and I may not have a clear understanding of complicated issues. I am trying to provide basic tax preparation information for our volunteers to get started--remember Publication 4012 is your go-to resource for questions, as well as irs.gov and Publication 17.
